A message to all valued Customers, Friends and Followers of Gemmeus.
Firstly I hope you and all your family and friends are keeping well In these most challenging of times.
This year is my 10th Anniversary of starting Gemmeus as a sole business. At the best of times it hasn’t been easy, but with your valued support over the years, I have built up Gemmeus to what it is today. In my wildest imagination I never though anything of this magnitude with the Covid 19 pandemic, would occur in my life time, I am sure you are the same.
In the grand scheme of things, there are of course, more important things than jewellery. However I cannot deny it, over the last couple of weeks I have been trying to suppress the anxiety as I sit here, on my own in my living room-cum-office, wondering what the future will hold for me and for my customers and friends. I have so many self employed friends in the same worrying situation and my thoughts are with them too.
It is very sad that due to the Covid -19, most events up till July (so far, at the time of writing) have been cancelled (and one Christmas fair too) with only one or two having been able to reschedule for later in the year. There is still no guarantee they will go ahead.
Despite all this, I have been working on getting in all the supplies I can to keep occupied and I am currently working through my commission as much as possible. There are some services which have closed so I am unable to hallmark for the time being. At this time, I have no idea when this will change so there will be further delays to completion. As many of us are, I am following the advice and am staying at home as much as possible, so delivery of completed pieces will also be limited.
Going forward, I will be keeping a virtual presence on www.gemmeus.com, Facebook and Instagram.
I know Jewellery isn’t essential, but a lovely piece for yourself or as a gift can be something to look forward to. Birthdays, Anniversaries and all kinds of celebrations still go on. I will, therefore, be posting up pieces that are currently available and as is always the case, am happy to discuss future commission enquiries.
Let us all continue In the British tradition of “Keep Calm and Carry on” (at a distance) and please keep yourselves safe and where ever possible try to support small business.
Thank you and best wishes
Nicky
