“Oxwich Brooch” 14th Century
This brooch was commissioned by The National Museum of Wales in Rubies and Iolite
Piece shown was made in Silver, 24ct gold vermeil with Garnets and Iolites.
Description
Measures 2.5 inches in diameter.
For the Museum, I recreated the brooch in what is considered to be the original gemstones,
as at present the brooch has three Cameos (quiet possibly a later replacement as they are ill fitting) and three Sapphires.
